[Event] Train2Game Game Jam – Final Result & Placings

The following post is by Train2Game Game Jam organiser Dave Sharp, and was originally posted on the Train2Game forum. You can find out more about how Dave thought the Game Jam went in this interview with the Train2Game blog. You can discuss the results on the Train2Game forum.

Firstly, just a personal thank you to everyone that took part. I’ve enjoyed the jam which is not something I say at the end of every single event, and I think you should all be pleased with your efforts – regardless of where you came in the final judging. I’d also like to pass on congratulations from the rest of my game jam team – Graham, Mike, Adam and Romana. They don’t work for or have any connection with Train2Game but they were all very impressed with the level of ability shown by the students. You will already find that Adam Green has registered on the forum, I’m sure the others will follow.

So, onto the results. I’m posting the final positions without the points scored. Firstly I don’t think it serves any real purpose to post the actual scores, so please don’t harass me for them. Secondly, whilst this is a competitive event, I don’t see it as an outright competition in that sense, the experience is more important and I don’t want this whole event to be defined by the scores.

If you have enjoyed the experience and would like to do more game jams, I organise a series of events around the UK during the course of the year. I will post the details of the events as they come up.

Train2Game, in association with DR Studios, TIGA and the University of Bedfordshire, held a 48 hour Game Jam from March 25th to March 27th. For coverage in the run up to, and during the event,  see the official Train2Game Game Jam website, the official Train2Game Game Jam Facebook page, or listen to the Audioboo interview with organiser Dave Sharp.
