Train2Game news: UK Charts – Sniper Elite V2 holds off the competition

Train2Game News reported last week that Sniper Elite V2 took No.1 in the UK charts, and it’s no different with the shooter from Oxford based Rebellion holding onto top spot for a second week.

Industry body TIGA hailed last week’s No.1 for Sniper Elite V2 as good for the UK games industry.

Former No.1 FIFA Street moves up to No.2, with fellow EA Sports title FIFA 12 is once again a non-mover at No.3, while Prototype 2 drops to No.4.

Mass Effect 3, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, Kinect Star Wars, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games and Battlefield 3 are all non-movers, while Assassin’s Creed: Revelations breaks back into the top ten, dislodging Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in the process.

PlayStation 3 exclusive Starhawk is the only new release in the top 40 this week, reaching No.17 in its first week on sale.

The UKIE Gfk Chart-Track All Formats Top 10 for the week ending 12th May is therefore as follows:

1. Sniper Elite V2 (505 Games)
2. FIFA Street (EA)
3. FIFA 12 (EA)
4. Prototype 2 (Activision)
5. Mass Effect 3 (EA)
6. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 (EA)
7. Kinect Star Wars (Microsoft)
8. Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games (Sega)
9. Battlefield 3 (EA)
10. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (Ubisoft)

New releases this week include Diablo III and Max Payne 3.

What are your thoughts on this week’s charts? Which of the new releases do you think will claim No.1 next week?
