LittleBigPlanet 2 Sackbot featurette reveals release date

LittleBigPlanet 2

Media Molecule has released a new LittleBigPlanet 2 trailer. It not only showcases the new Sackbots, but also reveals the new release date of LittleBigPlanet 2.

The LittleBigPlanet 2 Sackbots video begins with a scientist Sackboy bringing a Sackbot to life in the style of an old school horror movie, and using the in-game creation tool to choose its size. The LittleBigPlanet 2 Sackbots aren’t just going to be limited to lifeless robots though, with the video showing how the bots can look like regular Sackboys and girls.

The Sackbot featurette also shows how the little blighters could be used in LittleBigPlanet 2 custom levels. Sackbots can be programmed to be rescued, to run from Sackboy, to follow Sackboy, to patrol areas, and to act in cut scenes. Of course, they can dance too, and the LittleBigPlanet 2 featurette shows plenty of that in a Bollywood style ending!

You can see the LittleBigPlanet 2 Sackbots featurette for yourself below.

As the video reveals, LittleBigPlanet 2 is now set to be released on January 18th 2011 after being delayed in September. It’s a date that should be firmly penned in to Train2Game student diaries given the scope available for creating community levels. Portal, Flower and Street Fighter have all been recreated by LittleBigPlanet 2 beta testers, and Train2Game students no doubt have some ideas of their own.

Last week, Media Molecule told Develop that they’ve hired developers after being impressed by their custom LittleBigPlanet levels. If that isn’t an incentive for Train2Game students to invest in LittleBigPlanet 2, I don’t know what is!

So Train2Game, what are your thoughts on the LittleBigPlanet 2 Sackbots featurette? How would you implement them into your LittleBigPlanet 2 level? Will you pick up LittleBigPlanet 2 in January?

REVIEW: WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011

Smackdown vs Raw 2011 logo

It must be tough working as a developer on a yearly franchise. They know that they’ve made important changes to the game, but the tweaks might be so subtle that gamers don’t recognise that this is the case.  This year however, Yuke’s have made a special effort to ensure that Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 works differently to previous games in the franchise. The controls have been tweaked, Career Mode has been replaced by an all inclusive WWE Universe, and there have been changes to the Road to Wrestlemania story mode. The good news is that these changes are generally positive, and Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 will likely be a welcome addition to any WWE fans game collection.

The biggest change in gameplay is the new physics system that has been introduced for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011. Objects now react more realistically in a variety of situations.  No longer will that table just be moved out the way by unseen forces if your Superstar performs a move near it. Your opponent (Or indeed you) could end up going straight through the table as it smashes into little pieces.  Other ‘foreign objects’ also act more realistically in WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011. Ladders for example will lean against the ropes, against the ring, and a variety of other places allowing you pull off a wide variety extreme moves. The new physics system certainly makes WWE Smackdown vs. Raw feel more realistic – if you can call pro-wrestling that! – and special match types are a lot more fun as a result.

Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 Image 1

Well, maybe it isn't so going to be so fun for Drew Mcintyre there...

Yuke’s have also made changes to specific match types for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 with Hell in a Cell in particular the most improved.  The ‘demonic structure’ is now a full replica of its television counterpart. Now there is more than one persons worth of space between the ring and the cage, and weapons can be pulled out from under the ring for even more carnage. Of course, you can still get out of the cage in – this time by smashing your opponent through it – and unleash further mayhem outside and on top of it.

Ladder Matches have also changed for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011, but they still prove somewhat frustrating. You don’t need to spend as long wrestling with the belt/briefcase/prize of choice above the ring, but your opponents need to practically unconscious to give you enough time to do so. Ladder match AI can sometimes go awry as I saw in a Triple Threat match between myself, Vladimir Kozlov and Chris Jericho. My Superstar was out for the count, Kozlov was trying to grab the briefcase and Jericho just stood there and let him do it! Still the AI of WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 generally works well overall – if less so in Tag Team Matches – but seasoned players will need to ramp the difficulty up to Hard or even Legend for a proper challenge.

Perhaps the most significant change for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 is the introduction of the WWE Universe.  The WWE Universe essentially combines Exhibition Matches and a Career Mode into one and the game will react according to how you play. The outcomes of matches will change rankings, determine future matches on the in-game schedule (though you can change or just simulate these if you’re not interested) and will create alliances and enemies for superstars. Of course, titles can change hands too but the challenger needs to be high enough up the rankings when a Pay-per-view comes along in order to do so.

WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 Hell in a Cell

That surely isn't going to end well for Jack Swagger.

Naturally, with this being the WWE rivalries and interference play roles in WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 and they’ll develop you play matches in the WWE Universe. For example, playing a match as Matt Hardy vs CM Punk ended up with Drew McIntyre attempting to interfere, leading in turn to Big Show running down to the ring in order to even the odds. Matt Hardy and Big Show’s relationship improved because of this and they could eventually go on to form a tag team. Relationships between superstars plays a big part in deciding what cut scenes occurring before, during and after matches in WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011. Enemies could assault you on their way to the ring, or after a match. In turn your allies could run to your aid, or even betray you . It’s all rather unpredictable but that’s what makes the WWE entertaining, and it’s a welcome addition to WWE Smackdown. vs. Raw 2011.

This year, Yuke’s have also made changes to the Road to Wrestlemania story mode for WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011. The biggest one of these is the fact your chosen Superstar can walk around back stage, interacting with other Superstars and performing mini challenges are essentially RPG elements. Completing matches, partaking in backstage ‘events’ (i.e. fights in the locker room) and finding hidden objects all give your Superstar experience points, which you can use to upgrade stats. It’s an interesting new system and it works quite well, but sometimes wandering between one end of the backstage area to the other in order to try and find someone to talk to (or pummel) can get tiresome. The lip syncing is completely off too which takes away from the ‘real’ life of a Superstar.

However, the actual stories in the WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 more than make up for the occasional lack of depth in the backstage area. There are five different Roads to Wrestlemania on offer each following a particular Superstar. You can choose John Cena (Yes, again.), Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Christian or a Vs. The Undertaker story. The last one allows you to play as one of four pre-determined Superstars, or one you’ve created yourself, as they try to end The Undertakers legendary Wrestlemania winning streak. Personally, my favourite Road to Wrestlemania story was Christians’ as it made me feel as I was watching WWE in 1999 all over again.

WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 Royal Rumble

You'd think those two would be hitting eachother.

One odd thing about Christians’ story however is that it takes place on the ECW brand which was cancelled all the way back in February this year. There are also storylines that involve wrestlers who aren’t even on the books of the WWE anymore, and of course there are plenty of Superstars who’ve appeared this year that aren’t on the games already impressive roster. It’s a small annoyance, but one that could frustrate hardcore WWE fans.

Naturally, if you think someone deserves to be in WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 you can always attempt to add them yourself using the create a wrestler tool. This feature remains mostly unchanged from last year, but you can still expect thousands of fan created Superstars to appear online for download. The option to create a finisher has also been tweaked for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 allowing you more freedom as to how you beat down your opponents.

Overall, Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 is an improvement over the previous irritations of the series. The improved physics of the weapons and combination of exhibition matches and a career mode into ‘The WWE Universe’ works well and makes every match played an interesting and enjoyable experience, even if they are occasionally let down by AI issues. Meanwhile, the Road to Wrestlemania storylines remain as enjoyable as ever, but the introduction of the RPG elements lacks some depth. Aside from that and a few other minor issues, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 a highly enjoyable game and is a must for any WWE Fan, and highly recommended as an enjoyable fighter for anyone else.

VERDICT: 8/10

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 is available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 from 29th October 2010

Motorbikes hinted at for Gran Turismo 5 DLC

Valentino Rossi Racing Bike

Gran Turismo 5 developers Polyphony Digital have hinted that motorbikes may be added to the game as DLC.  Speaking to PSM3 Magazine, Polyphony boss Kazunori Yamauchi said:

“The environment we have right now allows us to drive motorcycles, but we need to get Gran Turismo 5 done first,”

“Once that’s out of the way, if there’s a strong demand for bikes, that’s something we’d consider.”

It motorbikes were added to Gran Turismo 5, it’d be the first time they’d feature in a Gran Turismo game. However, Polyphony Digital does have past experience with a two-wheeled racing game. The Gran Turismo 5 developers produced the well received Tourist Trophy for the PlayStation 2. It was practically Gran Turismo but on two wheels instead of four.

But motorbike enthusiasts shouldn’t get too excited yet, especially with Yamauchi saying they need to get Gran Turismo 5 done first. Meanwhile, car enthusiasts definitely won’t want to see motorbikes added to Gran Turismo 5 before the game is released. Why, they wouldn’t want Gran Turismo 5 delayed yet again, would they?

Gran Turismo 5 was finally scheduled for release on November 5th, however Polyphony Digital stated earlier this month that the racing sim has been delayed again to create the “perfect racing experience”  However, the developers say Gran Turismo 5 will be ready in time for the Holiday Season.

When it finally gets released, Gran Turismo 5 will feature over 1,000 fully licensed cars and over 70 racing circuits – including the Top Gear  test track. The much anticipated, and much delayed, racer will also be fully 3D compatible.

So Train2Game, what are your thoughts on the possibility of post-release DLC for Gran Turismo 5 that includes motorbikes? Do you doubt that Gran Turismo 5 will actually receive any extra content post release given the time it’s taken to produce the game? Or do you think Polyphony Digital should produce a new version of Tourist Trophy?

You can leave your thoughts on the possible addition of two-wheeled racing to Gran Turismo 5 here on the Train2Game blog, or on the Train2Game forum.

Gran Turismo 5 delayed again

Gran Turismo 5Sony has revealed the release of Grand Turismo 5 has been delayed….yet again. The good news this time is that the wait isn’t going to be that long. Probably. The official announcement on the PlayStation blog says:

“We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.

We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.

We’ll have more information for you in the near future.”

CVG has confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 has also been delayed in Europe. However, ‘the Holiday season’ suggests that Gran Turismo 5 should be available before Christmas. However, with the number of delays that Gran Turismo 5 has suffered we can’t be sure. Development on Gran Turismo 5 started in 2006 after all!

The November 3rd release date for Gran Turismo 5 was revealed that this years’ GamesCom. When it’s finally hits the shops, Gran Turismo 5 will feature over 1,000 fully licensed cars and over 70 racing circuits – including the Top Gear  test track. The much anticipated, and much delayed, racer will also be fully 3D compatible.

So Train2Game, what do you think of this latest delay for Gran Turismo 5? Has anyone actually pre-ordered it? Surely the delay can only be good for the gameplay in Gran Turismo 5, right?

FIFA 11 – where can you save the most shiny gold coins?

FIFA 11FIFA 11 is released tomorrow, and as expected, various retailers are cutting the price in an attempt to persuade you to give them your hard earned cash.

ASDA offer FIFA 11 for just 97p. Yes, you read that correctly, you can get your hands on FIFA 11 from ASDA for just 97P. However, FIFA 11 is only available at that extremely low price if you trade in Halo: Reach, F1 2010 or Dead Rising 2. With these games being so new, who would actually trade them already? Alternatively ASDA will be selling FIFA 11 without conditions for £29.97.

Frugal Gaming reports that Sainsbury’s will be selling FIFA 11 for £24.97to customers who spend £30 or more in store. That sounds like a good deal, if you need to do your weekly food shop anyway! FIFA 11 with your baked beans? Alternatively, you can pick FIFA 11 up on its own for £34.97.

Tesco are selling FIFA 11 for £25, but that’s only if you buy another chart title at the same time.

Away from the supermarkets, FIFA 11 is available from ShopTo on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for £34.85, while Amazon are selling FIFA 11 at the slightly higher price of £35.93.

Specialist retailers Gamestation and GAME are offering FIFA 11 for £37.99 and £39.99 respectively.

GAME CEO Ian Shepherd has told MCV that GAME isn’t concerned about supermarket competition for the big launch of FIFA 11.

“FIFA’s going to be a really exciting launch – we are building up for a really big week on it”  He said.

“For us it’s a much broader question than price competition – trade-ins, pre-order incentives, Reward Card points, exclusive content in-store all comes into play for us on big launches like this.”

“Look at Halo: Reach, Move, StarCraft II, and other big launches – we over-index on market share when new products arrive because we have a great mix of offers.”

A large number of GAME stores will be opening their doors at midnight to celebrate the launch of FIFA 11 and allow gamers to be among the first to get their hands on the latest edition of the annual franchise.

If you’re undecided over whether you want FIFA 11, you can find out how to get your hands on the FIFA 11 demo – and the PES 2011 demo – here. Alternatively, you can test out FIFA 11 tomorrow through to Sunday at the Eurogamer Expo!

Initial Impressions of F1 2010

F1 2010After months of waiting, after being teased by trailers and developer diaries, F1 2010 is finally here!

Having pre-ordered my copy I was lucky enough to find F1 2010 waiting for me when I got home yesterday, and therefore got to play it before it was officially released! Yes, yes I feel rather smug. Naturally I spent all of my evening playing it, so for the benefit of Train2Game students; here are my initial impressions of F1 2010.

OK, I’ll come out and say this straight away: F1 2010 is certainly the best racing game I’ve ever played. It looks amazing, the cars handle well and you truly feel as if you’re one of the 24 elite Formula 1 drivers when you’re behind the wheel of your car. Perhaps the only thing needed to improve this feeling would be to invest in a racing wheel and pedals set.

After installing F1 2010 onto my PlayStation 3, the game took me straight into Career Mode. You start by entering basics such as your name and nationality before selecting either a one, three or seven year long career. The length of your F1 2010 career determines the choice of teams to begin with. I selected 7 so had to choose between the new teams – and this year’s perennial backmarkers, Lotus, Virgin Racing and HRT F1. I chose to begin my F1 2010 career with Lotus, thus forcing Heikki Kovalienen out of the F1 2010 season. Sorry Heikki!

After short introduction – and importantly choosing my helmet design – I went straight into the first race of the F1 2010 season, the Bahrain Grand Prix. I immediately selected Free Practice in order to get a feel for both my Lotus and the Sakhir circuit.

I’d chosen medium difficulty which helpfully makes the car less sensitive and shows the racing line. Despite this, getting a feel for the car was tough and in my first few laps I found myself mistiming braking, running wide and spinning all over the place. I didn’t register a time until my fourth lap thanks to the stewards penalising me for cutting corners! (I wouldn’t say running wide was cutting a corner mind!) Practice makes perfect as they say and I somehow managed to haul my lowly Lotus up to 11th fastest by the end of the session after fiddling with the set up of my car in the garage.

Qualifying was a completely different kettle of fish, and I was the first car on the track to set a competitive lap time. This meant I had provisional pole! But this didn’t last long with teams like Force India and Sauber also on track meaning my glory was short lived. I

Incidentally, because I’d chosen a short racing weekend the qualifying session wasn’t the full blown shoot out that is currently used in Formula 1. F1 2010 features a shorter 20 minute qualifying session, although the shoot out is used if you selected a long race weekend.

Qualifying really got my adrenaline pumping. My team has set me the target of qualifying in 20th position or above. With qualifying about to end I was sitting in provisional 21st place and really, really pushed to improve on my position. Unfortunately, I pushed too hard on the tight Turn 19 and lost control of my car. Thankfully, there was no damaged and I trundled back to the pits in anticipation for the race, safe in the knowledge that I’d qualified ahead of my team mate, experienced Italian Jarno Trulli.

F1 2010

Helpful braking guidance

Of course, the racing is the integral part of F1 2010 and despite my poor qualifying position I knew that race day was the most important day of the weekend. My race started very well, with  some sneaky driving on the first corner meant I’d made up plenty of positions by the end of the first lap. . My race was not without incident however, for example a poor over taking manoeuvre from Nico Rosberg ended up with my car in a wall. Thankfully F1 2010 has a ‘replay’ system which allows you to rewind time to before any incidents. But be sure to use these wisely, because you only a small handful of them.

The hustle and bustle of a Formula 1 race in F1 2010 feels incredibly authentic, and my heart was  in my mouth as I made by way through the  field. I received a few warnings for bumps against other cars, but thankfully didn’t get a penalty. My ever-improving driving was rewarded by running as high as 4th place during the middle portions of the race.

Of course, I was running this high before having to take my mandatory pit stop, and when I rejoined the race I was back in a lowly 19th, but had a group of other backmarkers ahead of me. The next few laps also showed that there were cars ahead of me that hadn’t pitted so when it came to the penultimate lap I was up to 11th place.

11th place…and 10th place would have got me one valuable World Championship point. It was all or nothing as I pushed hard to catch the driver in front of me who turned out to be seven time World Champion, the legendary Michael Schumacher. Somehow, I managed to do him up the inside on the final corner of the race and took 10th position. I felt on top of the world.

Perhaps I achieved this because I was playing on medium difficulty, or perhaps it was because I had driven a really good race, but I’d played my Lotus into a finishing position it really had to right to be in. I felt proud, very proud indeed.

So I may have only completed one race so far, but in my eyes F1 2010 is an absolutely amazing game. It’s everything you could want for a Formula 1 racing game. It may not be for the casual racing fan, but if you’re into Formula 1, you’ll definitely spend many, many hours racing in F1 2010.

If you’re undecided on F1 2010, you’ll be able to see it for yourself as the game will be playable at the Eurogamer Expo at Earls Court London October 1st-3rd.

Train2Game will be giving away the new PlayStation Move controller with a PlayStation 3 320GB slim at Eurogamer 2010.

To enter the prize draw, pick up a entry form at Stand 12 in the Career fair. We look forward to seeing you there.

If you have already got your hands on F1 2010, what are your thoughts on the game?

A Pre-Eurogamer look at Fallout: New Vegas

Fallout: New VegasFallout: New Vegas may very well be one of the star attractions at next weeks’ Eurogamer Expo.

You may have seen the recent Train2Game blog post about Chris Avellone, Senior Designer of Fallout: New Vegas, in which he gave Planet Fallout readers advice about breaking into the games industry. Of course, the interview was about more than how to become a games developer, and Avellone revealed much about Fallout: New Vegas.

For those who might be unfamiliar with Fallout: New Vegas, (have you been living under a rock?), it’s a post-apocalyptic action-role playing game set three years after the events of 2008’s Fallout 3.

New Vegas isn’t a direct sequel to Fallout 3, but rather a stand alone game in its own right being produced by Obsidian Entertainment.

Fallout: New Vegas is set around a post-apocalyptic Las Vegas, Nevada in the year 2280. You play the role of a courier found shot in the head and buried in a shallow grave after being ambushed for the important package you’re carrying. After being treated for your injuries (Thus allowing you to choose your name, gender, appearance, skills and attributes) you set off to discover who tried to kill you, retrieve the package and explore the world. You can find out a bit more about the back story of Fallout: New Vegas in this developer diary from Obsidian.

Fallout: New Vegas isn’t however just a reskinned version of Fallout 3, and Chris Avellone told Planet Fallout about some of the changes.

“We added more skill checks for various skills (Barter, Explosives, Sneak, Guns), displayed the success values for skill checks, added some stupid-speak at points for low INT characters, and changed the text of the line if your skill isn’t high enough (as an example: adding [Crappy Speech] “uh… maybe… you’d be making a mistake?” vs. [Good Speech skill] “You pull that trigger on someone that’s got NCR’s full support, you’ll be making a mistake.”) “

Avellone also talks about one of the most interesting new additions to Fallout: New Vegas, a ‘Hardcore Mode’ for those who want a bigger challenge while wandering the Mojave Wasteland.

“If drinking out of toilets makes you a hero, Hardcore mode delivers. I’ve never been so conscious of water sources in each environment until I played in Hardcore mode. And I eat until I’m stuffed and then some. The player has to worry about dehydration, ammo weight, resting, starvation, and healing items (Stimpaks) healing over time instead of instantly… all the things that make you more a virtual man than the next virtual man who’s playing on normal”

The Fallout: New Vegas Senior Designer reveals much more about the upcoming game in the in the rest of the interview with Planet Fallout. Other new features include new companions and different factions you can make friends and enemy of in New Vegas.

Fallout: New Vegas is scheduled for release on October 22nd and will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. A poker-themed Special Edition of Fallout: New Vegas will also be released, but is only available at GAME and Gamestation here in the UK.  There are also four different sets of in-game bonus items available for Fallout: New Vegas, depending on where you pre-order the game from.

Pre-ordering Fallout: New Vegas from GAME gets you the Classic Pack which contains:

* Armored Vault 13 Suit – Extensively patched up and dotted with piecemeal armor, this outfit is an homage to the classic ending of the original Fallout.
* Vault 13 Canteen – This handy device is useful for staving off dehydration and providing a small amount of healing in the Mojave Wasteland.
* Weathered 10mm Pistol – A well-worn 10mm pistol that packs an extra punch despite its modest size.
* 5 Stimpaks – Food and water are good for long-term healing, but when the fighting is fierce, Stimpaks help keep Wastelanders upright.

Fallout: New Vegas Caravan PackIf you pre-order Fallout: New Vegas from Amazon you’ll get The Tribal Pack, containing:

* Tribal Raiding Armor – Pieced together from scraps of armor, this outfit provides protection without impacting mobility.
* Broad Machete – This heavy-bladed melee weapon does high damage against limbs and can quickly deal out a flurry of attacks.
* 5 Bleak Venom doses – Useful on any Melee Weapon, Bleak Venom makes short of work of most living targets.
* 10 Throwing Spears – If you would like to silently pin an enemy’s head to a wall, Throwing Spears are the way to do it.

Meanwhile the Fallout: New Vegas Caravan Pack from Play.com contains pre-order bonuses of:

* Lightweight Leather Armor – This hand-modified suit of leather armor reduces its overall weight without impacting its ability to protect.
* Sturdy Caravan Shotgun – Despite its rough appearance, this Caravan Shotgun will reliably fire 20 gauge shells until the Brahmin come home.
* 4 Repair Kits – Useful for repairing any outfit or weapon, Repair Kits are a valuable tool for any caravaner.
* Binoculars – The Mojave Wasteland is a dangerous place, but with these trusty Binoculars you’ll be able to spot trouble coming.

Finally, pre-order Fallout: New Vegas from Gamestation, and you’ll get the Mercenary Pack consisting of:

* Lightweight Metal Armor – Modified for long-range travel, this Metal Armor sacrifices some protection for mobility and overall weight.
* Mercenary’s Grenade Rifle – Though similar to other 40mm Grenade Rifles in the Mojave Wasteland, this model has a faster reload cycle.
* 3 Super Stimpaks – When you absolutely, positively, need to keep your blood inside your body, Super Stimpaks fix you up in no time.
* 3 Doctors Bags – Mercenaries and broken limbs go together like Iguana-on-a-Stick and Nuka Cola. Thankfully, these Doctors Bags take a bit of sting out of the inevitable crushed skull.

Perhaps you’ve already pre-ordered Fallout: New Vegas, but are anxious about how long away October 22nd seems to be. Then fear not, for a playable version of Fallout: New Vegas will be available for you to get your hands on at the Eurogamer Expo at London’s Earls Court October 1st-3rd.

Train2Game will be giving away the new PlayStation Move controller with a PlayStation 3 320GB slim at Eurogamer 2010.

To enter the prize draw pick up a entry form at Stand 12 in the Career fair. We look forward to seeing you there.

So Train2Game, what are your thoughts on the new features in Fallout: New Vegas? Have you pre-ordered the game? If so, which set of in-game items have you picked to come with your copy?

As usual, leave your comments about Fallout: New Vegas here or on the Train2Game forum.

LittleBigPlanet 2 beta videos arrive online, can Train2Game students produce better?

The beta testing period of LittleBigPlanet 2 is in full swing, which means videos of what the lucky community members have been up to are starting to appear online. These videos show that the LittleBigPlanet 2 community has already been extremely creative and cements the idea that LittleBigPlanet 2 could be the Train2Game students dream ticket.

In this video, a LittleBigPlanet 2 beta tester has created a beat up, based around Guile’s Street Fighter II stage. The level includes the plane and a crowd of on looks that not only perform their own actions, but can also be unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of attacks from Sackboy versions of Guile, Ken and Zangeif.

Another LittleBigPlanet 2 beta video that shows just how flexible the creation tools in the game can be is ‘Vietnam: First Person Shooter’ So this LittleBigPlanet 2 custom level doesn’t have the constant threat of death that you’d find in a Call of Duty: Black Ops’ or Medal of Honor, but it does look like a lot of fun. You have to admire the detail that’s gone into creating a LittleBigPlanet 2 played from a first person perspective; you can even see stitches in Sackboys hand!

LittleBigPlanet 2 is scheduled for release in the United States on November 16th, so hopefully we’ll have it in Europe at around the same time. The good news is that you don’t necessarily have to wait until mid-November to get your hands on LittleBigPlanet 2.  Media Molecule demonstrating a playable version of LittleBigPlanet 2 at Eurogamer between October 1st and October 3rd.

Train2Game are also going to be at Eurogamer, and will be giving away the new PlayStation Move controller with a PlayStation 3 320GB slim at Eurogamer 2010.

To enter the prize draw pick up a entry form at Stand 12 in the Career fair. We look forward to seeing you there.

So, what are your thoughts about the new LittleBigPlanet 2 videos? Do you think you’ll be using the creation tools to make your own levels and games? If so, what plans do you have?

PlayStation Move is out! But where can you get it cheapest?

PlayStation MoveThe PlayStation Move is available to buy here in the UK!  Some of you have already told us using the Train2Game Twitter account that you’ve already got your PlayStation Move. No doubt some of you who do want the PlayStation Move didn’t pre-order because you cunningly foresaw that retailers would be trying to undercut each other.

The good news for you – if not for Sony and PlayStation Move is that  they have, so we at Train2Game are going to give you a rundown of the cheapest places to get yourself a PlayStation Move pack.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, supermarket giant Tesco are undercutting the rest of the market selling the PlayStation Move starter pack for just £39.70.

Other retailers selling the PlayStation Move at a reasonably low price are Simply Games who are selling the PlayStation Move starter pack for £41.85, and ShopTo selling it at £42.85.  The Game Collection have the PlayStation Move starter pack for sale at £43.99

The big games retailers, Game and GameStation, both price PlayStation Move at £44.99.

Of course, you could always purchase PlayStation Move from your local independent game shop and get a warm fuzzy feeling inside for helping an independent retailer.

Not convinced by PlayStation Move? Well, you’re not the only one, but perhaps this Kevin Butler advert will help you make a decision.

So Train2Game, if you pre-ordered PlayStation Move, have you tried it out yet? If so what are your initial impressions? Id you’re a PlayStation owner, will you be buying Move in the near future? Or are you going to wait and see how things go?
