Gamer Network, organisers of the UK’s leading video games events, is excited to announce that tickets are now available to purchase for EGX 2019 which returns to London this year, taking over ExCeL London for 4 days from the 17th to the 20th of October 2019.

Promising to be the best show yet, EGX 2019 – sponsored by Virgin Media – will feature more than 1,500 screens of interactive entertainment with blockbuster triple-A titles from the world’s biggest publishers sitting alongside a huge collection of innovative indie games in the Rezzed Zone. The show will also feature esports, retro gaming and meet and greets with notable personalities from YouTube and Twitch.

Meanwhile, the Developer Sessions and Rezzed Sessions will bring attendees the latest news on some of the world’s most exciting pre-release games and deep dive insights into the game development process.

The GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair will offer invaluable advice to those seeking to begin a career in games and the GamesIndustry.biz Trade Zone will be a vital destination for members of the UK trade looking to network.

Train2Game News Nintendo at EGX 2018

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and Super Mario Party exclusively for Nintendo Switch will be playable for the first time in the UK at EGX 2018, running 20th-23rd September 2018 at The NEC, Birmingham.

Alongside these highly anticipated debut appearances, fans of social competitive gaming will be pleased to learn that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will also be available to play throughout the event, while Saturday 22nd September will offer the next opportunity for the freshest squads in the UK to go head to head in the next Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 Qualifier!

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! make their first European appearance!

Attendees at EGX 2018 will be among the first people in Europe to experience a new style of Pokémon adventure as they explore Viridian Forest in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! ahead of their release on 16th November 2018.

Prove you’re a minigame champion in Super Mario Party!

Super Mario Party will also make its UK debut, giving visitors the opportunity to try out a range of mini-games from the upcoming multiplayer game as they compete for the Toad Cup! This is the perfect opportunity to get some practise in before hitting the boards alongside friends and family anytime, anywhere on 5th October 2018.

See legendary game worlds and fighters collide in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will also be available for attendees to play, giving UK fans another opportunity to get to grips with newcomers Inkling and Ridley, as well as the game’s new mechanics, ahead of its release on 7th December 2018.

Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 Qualifier Tournament – Saturday 22nd September

EGX will also play host to the next Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 Octo League qualifier on Saturday 22nd September, and Nintendo UK is accepting pre-registration now from full teams of 4 or 5 people! For teams to secure their place in the tournament they should send an email to NintendoCommunity@Nintendo.co.uk with the subject line “Splatoon 2 Tournament EGX 2018”, providing the names or tags of their team members. Teams will need to purchase a ticket to enter EGX 2018, which can be done from the EGX website.

Teams and players can also register at the event from 2pm on Friday 21st September, if there are spaces available. For players not in full teams that attend the event and wish to compete, Nintendo UK will endeavour to match any squids (or Octopi) for hire with others looking to create a team if there is space in the tournament.

Gamer Network, organisers of the UK’s premier games events, is delighted to announce that EGX Rezzed will return to London’s Tobacco Dock on the 4th-6th April 2019.

Now in its eighth year and powered by Virgin Media, EGX Rezzed is the world’s premier indie games event and an essential destination for both creators and consumers. Over 200 individual playable games are expected at 2019’s event, spread over 600 playing positions with PC and console formats represented.

A packed schedule of talks and panel sessions covering a range of topics including exclusive updates on major titles, deep dive insights into specific areas of game development and invaluable career advice from experienced professionals will take place in the event’s numerous theatre spaces.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet their favourite video content creators with Outside Xbox, Eurogamer and Rock Paper Shotgun teams all expected to participate in the event.

The renowned Leftfield Collection will return for 2019 offering a platform to creators whose games sit outside the mainstream the chance to exhibit their projects for free to a passionate audience.

EGX Rezzed 2019 is set to be the biggest in the event’s history with additional space now available within Tobacco Dock, the beautiful listed building in the heart of London which has hosted the event since 2015.

EGX Rezzed is once again partnered with BAFTA with the independent charity set to have a presence on the event’s show floor. The BAFTA Games Awards will take place on Thursday 4th April at a venue set to be revealed later this year.

EGX Rezzed 2019 takes place from the 4th-6th April at Tobacco Dock in London. Tickets will go on sale in the autumn.

Train2Game News Meet Tim Schafer

Double Fine’s Tim Schafer is heading to EGX Rezzed where he’ll chat with Eurogamer.net editor Oli Welsh about his 30 year career in games.

Beginning his career in the late eighties with Lucasarts, Tim made key contributions to a number of hugely influential adventure games including the Monkey Island series, Full Throttle and Grim Fandago.

In 2000 Tim founded Double Fine Productions, a development studio and publisher that has played a role in releasing more than 30 games across multiple formats. Notable projects include the critically acclaimed Psychonauts, Brütal Legend starring Jack Black and remastered versions of several classic Lucasarts titles. The studio is currently working on a sequel to Psychonauts.

EGX Rezzed attendees will be able to watch Tim interviewed on-stage by Eurogamer editor Oli Welsh at 12pm (BST) on Friday 13th April. The session will be live streamed on Twitch and available to watch later on the EGX YouTube channel.

There will be opportunities to take part in meet and greet sessions with Tim across all three days of this year’s event and attendees will also be able to get hands-on with three Double Fine Presents games – life sim Ooblets, hand-painted adventure Knights and Bikes and Gang Beasts, the silly multiplayer party game.

Set for release on the 7th November, the Xbox One X boasts 40% more power than any other console to offer an immersive 4K gaming experience.

Visitors to EGX will be able to get hands-on with a wide selection of games on the Xbox One family of devices including first party titles Forza Motorsport 7, Sea of Thieves and Super Lucky’s Tale as well as the eagerly anticipated Middle-earth: Shadow of War from Warner Bros. Over 75,000 gamers attended EGX at Birmingham’s NEC to take part in the biggest and the best gaming show in the UK.
Hosted in partnership with Virgin Media, the show boasted over 200 playable games, the largest showcase of indie games in the world and a host of global first-play exclusives including Bethesda’s Dishonored 2 and Playtonic’s Yooka-Laylee.

UK hands-on exclusives included the recently unveiled PlayStation 4 Pro and blockbuster games such as Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Gears of War 4, Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1, Final Fantasy XV, Horizon: Zero Dawn and more – all playable and pre-release. EGX is now securely established as the most important date in the UK calendar for developers to exhibit their latest games and for gamers to experience them for the first time.

EGX has also grown as a place to reveal new games and features, with this year’s show hosting announcements of the next titles from Square Enix Collective and Failbetter Games, and Shovel Knight’s appearance in Yooka-Laylee. Popular elements of the show included multiple eSports stages and tournaments such as the GFinity $100,000 Counter-Strike: GO invitational and the UK’s only Premier Event on the Capcom Pro Tour, as well as the UK Preliminaries for the European Cosplay Gathering.

EGX, the UK’s biggest games event, is delighted to announce that Bethesda Softworks’® Dishonored® 2, the highly-anticipated first-person action game from Arkane® Studios, will be playable for the public for the first time anywhere in the world at EGX 2016, taking place at the National Exhibition Centre on the 22nd to 25th September.
In addition, Sebastien Mitton, Art Director at Arkane Studios, will be hosting a developer session at EGX on 22nd September at 4pm BST. During his developer session, which will also be live streamed on the EGX Twitch channel, Mitton will discuss his artistic approach for Dishonored 2.

Dishonored 2, the latest blockbuster title to be unveiled for EGX 2016, is the follow up to Dishonored, which won over 100 ‘Game of The Year’ awards, including the 2012 BAFTA award for Best Game. Sony Computer Entertainment UK have announced that PlayStation®VR will be at EGX this September, giving fans the opportunity to experience the immersive world of Sony’s innovative virtual reality headset ahead of its 13th October launch.
