Train2Game News Fall Guys 7m In 3 Weeks

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has taken the gamingworld by storm since its release on August 4, 2020. The game falls under the increasingly popular Battle Royale game mode and has been trending among avid and casual gamers alike. According to data presented by Safebettingsites.com, Fall Guys has sold over 7 million units of the game on gaming platform Steam in less than 3 weeks and is fast becoming one of the most popular games on streaming platform Twitch.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout – A Wholesome Battle Royale

In the last few years, the Battle Royale game mode has become one of the most popular game modes in terms of both active players and in viewership on streaming platforms. The game mode was popularized with the release of Fortnite in 2017.

Itentails gamers playing online against other real-life gamers all vying to be the last one standing at the end of a match. However, most of the different iterations of the game mode involve combat of some sort where opponents are needed to be killed off to be eliminated from the game.

This is what separates Fall Guys as it puts a totally wholesome twist on the Battle Royale game mode. Fall Guys is played with up to 60 online players all vying to finish an obstacle course where only a certain number qualify for each level of the course.

The obstacle course has been described by many as a combination of popular tv shows, Wipeout and Takeshi’s Castle. The graphics of the game is also designed to be suitable for most ages. Players are represented by little animated avatars that they can customise to their liking. This made the game appealing to even the most casual of gamers.

The game was developed by Mediatonic and is available to download for free on PlayStation Plus or for various prices (depending on region) on Steam.

Fall Guys Takes Over Steam, PS Plus and Twitch

Since its release in the first week of August, Fall Guys has sold over 7 million units of the game in just a little over 3 weeks after its release. Sony also announced that the game has set the record for most downloaded Playstation Plus game of all time.

The game’s appeal stretches beyond the gamer experience as it has also proven to be popular among those who merely enjoy watching the game being played. In August, Fall Guys was already making its way to the top of the charts despite being in its infancy on streaming platform Twitch.

Train2Game Microsoft Buys ZeniMax

More than three billion people on the planet play games for fun, escape, and human connection.

Unlike any other medium, games empower people to engage in creativity, strategic thinking and teamwork, immersing them into interactive stories and worlds created by some of the world’s most amazing creators.

The cultural phenomenon of gaming has made it the largest and fastest-growing form of entertainment in the world—an industry that is expected to be more than $200 billion in annual revenue in 2021.

As the gaming industry transforms from a device-centric era to a player-centric era powered by new technology that provides the freedom to play with friends anywhere on any device, Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) on Monday announced plans to acquire ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, one of the largest, privately held game developers and publishers in the world.

Creators of critically acclaimed and best-selling gaming franchises including The Elder Scrolls and Fallout among many others, Bethesda brings an impressive portfolio of games, technology, talent, as well as a track record of blockbuster commercial success, to Xbox. Under the terms of the agreement, Microsoft will acquire ZeniMax Media for $7.5 billion in cash.

With unique investments in content, community, and the cloud, Microsoft’s gaming strategy differs from others by empowering people to play the games they want, with the people they want, anywhere they want. Games are the primary growth engine in gaming, and games are fueling new cloud-gaming services like Xbox Game Pass, which has reached a new milestone of over 15 million subscribers. With the addition of Bethesda, Microsoft will grow from 15 to 23 creative studio teams and will be adding Bethesda’s iconic franchises to Xbox Game Pass. This includes Microsoft’s intent to bring Bethesda’s future games into Xbox Game Pass the same day they launch on Xbox or PC, like Starfield, the highly anticipated, new space epic currently in development by Bethesda Game Studios.

“Gaming is the most expansive category in the entertainment industry, as people everywhere turn to gaming to connect, socialize and play with their friends,” said Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft. “Quality differentiated content is the engine behind the growth and value of Xbox Game Pass—from Minecraft to Flight Simulator. As a proven game developer and publisher, Bethesda has seen success across every category of games, and together, we will further our ambition to empower the more than three billion gamers worldwide.”

“This is an awesome time to be an Xbox fan. In the last 10 days alone, we’ve released details on our two new consoles which go on pre-order tomorrow, launched cloud gaming in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and now we’re making another investment in the most critical part of our strategy: the games,” said Phil Spencer, executive vice president, Gaming at Microsoft. “Generations of gamers have been captivated by the renowned franchises in the Bethesda portfolio and will continue to be so for years to come as part of Xbox.”

The planned acquisition includes publishing offices and development studios spanning the globe with over 2,300 employees, including Bethesda Softworks, Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog, and Roundhouse Studios. Bethesda’s critically acclaimed and best-selling franchises include The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, DOOM, Quake, Wolfenstein, and Dishonored, among others.

Bethesda parent company ZeniMax Media was founded in 1999 by Chairman and CEO Robert A. Altman; Bethesda’s structure and leadership will remain in place.

“This is a thrilling day for this company, our employees, and our fans. We have enjoyed a close partnership with Microsoft for decades, and this deal is a natural progression of those years working together,” said Altman. “The big winners today are our fans. We are continuing to develop our slate of AAA games, but now with Microsoft’s scale and entire Game Stack, our games can only get better.”

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and completion of regulatory review. Microsoft expects the acquisition to close in the second half of fiscal year 2021 and to have minimal impact to non-GAAP operating income in fiscal years 2021 and 2022. Non-GAAP excludes the expected impact of purchase accounting adjustments, as well as integration and transaction-related expenses.

Train2Game News Leisure Suit Larry Is Back

Today, publisher Assemble Entertainment is delighted to announce that Larry Laffer is back at it — again — and this time, he’s on Xbox One!

The world-famous ladies man is now available for your gameplay pleasure in the Microsoft Store in the form of Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry! Join Larry as he takes on the modern age — one explicit social media app at a time — to stumble his way to true love. The Xbox launch completes Larry’s multi-platform conquest as the infamous title stakes its claim on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and now, Xbox One!

Boasting a ‘Very Positive’ Steam review score, Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry lands Larry Laffer smack dab in 2018 where he’ll navigate his way through modern technology and modern women. What does that mean for the grease-stained lovebird of the ‘80s? Only one way to find out!

Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry launches on Xbox One complete with the Happy Ending Update — an expansion that serves as an epilogue depicting what happens after Larry’s dating misadventures that take place in the main game. That’s not all — players don’t have to wait long to get more Larry, as Assemble Entertainment and developer Crazybunch have just recently announced the sequel, Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Dry Twice, launching on PC via Steam on October 15th 2020.

Watch the Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry Xbox One trailer here

More about Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry:

Hey ladies, I’m back in business! My latest adventure, Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry, takes me – whatever the route or twist of fate – from the end of the ’80s directly to the 21st Century and wow, how the world has changed! While my…somewhat antiquated view of the world and women collides with modern reality, I’m all set to date my way across the modern world!

In a “point & click” adventure I’d call typical for the genre, we mutually experience how I fall head-over-heels in love with Faith, the assistant to the boss at Prune, a powerful global tech company. Since even dating is done digitally nowadays, the first thing I have to do is to work on my score at Timber, the totally hip, can’t-get-anywhere-without-it dating app where I date women, satisfy their needs, and pick up points for my Timber profile. And whenever I get a chance in between, briefly check out a few new beach pix at Instacrap – the 21st century is gnarly!

Key Features of Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry:

  • What a World!: Explore a lovingly designed, non-linear game world set in modern times with over 30 hand-drawn venues
  • The Digital Age: Use the “Timber” in-game app, along with an innovative dating mechanism to date women, improve your profile score, and ultimately clear the way to dating Faith, the woman of your dreams
  • Dating Can be Puzzling: Solve true-blue puzzles and interact with over 30 hand-drawn characters

Developed by CrazyBunch and published by Assemble Entertainment, Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry is available for £33.49GBP as a digital download in the Microsoft Store and features a limited-time 25% launch discount.

Thank you in advance for sharing this news with your audience! If you have any questions for Assemble Entertainment or Crazybunch about the launch or the Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams series, please drop me a line.

Players who participate in this improved Distraction and Diversion will be able to gain new rewards including the Sheldon the Baby Penguin pet, new titles, and a penguin tracking device.

The Effigy Incubator
Players who have completed the recently released Desperate Measures quest will be able to take part in a new advanced Distraction and Diversion – The Effigy Incubator. A frenzied, time-based D&D that gives windfalls of XP every month, but also pumps out best-in-slot urns. Players can use these urns while they are out in the world to aid their skilling. The powerful effigies have existed and been appreciated in game since June 2010, and successful adventurers will discover Kerapac’s secret lab to make their own, while revealing intriguing new dragonkin lore.

Distractions and Diversions – a popular content type in RuneScape – offer minigames for when players want a break from the game’s everyday cycle of quests, combat and skilling. With over 30 different activities, these minigames renew on a daily, weekly or monthly basis and ensure that there is always extra entertainment to be had outside of the core gameplay.

RuneScape players can join in these and other Distractions and Diversions at www.runescape.com
