Daedalic Entertainment and NACON are happy to finally reveal the release date of the story-driven stealth adventure The Lord of the Rings: Gollum – Daedalic’s take on one of the most iconic characters in fantasy history arrives on PC, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S on September 1st, 2022. The Nintendo Switch version is planned for later this year.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, based on the legendary The Lord of the Rings trilogy of books by J.R.R. Tolkien, tells of Gollum’s experiences from behind-the-scenes in the first chapters of The Fellowship of the Ring. After losing his precious ring to Bilbo Baggins, Gollum decides to leave the Misty Mountains and embark on a perilous journey that leads him from the dungeons of Barad-dûr to the realm of the Wood-elves in Mirkwood. 

In order to survive the dangers of his journey through Middle-earth, Gollum has to sneak and climb and use all his cunning.  He also has to deal with his Hobbit-self – Sméagol. It’s up to the players if they want Gollum to have the upper hand when it comes to making important decisions, or if they prefer to allow Sméagol to take over. Gollum also encounters well-known characters from the books as well as a few new faces.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, developed by Daedalic Entertainment in partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises, is co-published by Daedalic Entertainment and NACON. The game will release on PC, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on September 1st, 2022. A physical edition for consoles will also be available.

Train2Game News Play2Help Rocket League Tournament For Mental Health Awareness Month

Global esports platform Challengermode has announced it is working with the Mental Health Foundation and Rise Against the Disorder to raise awareness of mental health issues for this year’s Mental Health Awareness month.
 
This initiative will share encouraging content through Challengermode’s esports platform, raise funds for Mental Health organizations and culminate in an exclusive charity tournament with streamers and influencers benefiting charities across the United Kingdoms and the US.
 
Supporting the “Back To Basics” theme of this years’ MHAM, Challengermode will provide foundational knowledge about mental health to players through its esports platform, and key information and resources for where to turn for mental health support.
 
As well as providing tips on how to better understand mental well-being in relation to gaming, Challengermode will seed short messages into pre and post game tournament chats to raise awareness and encourage civil play.
The main event will be an exclusive charity tournament on May 28th, featuring influencers and streamers from the Rocket League community.
 
European players looking to get involved and show their support are able to qualify for the tournament in the week leading up to the main event. Open qualifiers will be held on May 23rd and 25th in the Play2Help Space on Challengermode where players can sign up to the qualifiers by paying an entry fee of any amount.
 
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mental Health Foundation and Rise Against the Disorder. This tournament will see influencers streaming the event on their platforms to maximise the reach of the MHAM message.

Warner Bros. Games today released a new MultiVersus cinematic trailer revealing Tasmanian Devil a.k.a. Taz (Looney Tunes), The Iron Giant (The Iron Giant) and Velma (Scooby-Doo), all of whom will all be joining the ever-expanding roster for the free-to-play platform fighter videogame in development by Player First Games.

The fun-filled trailer showcases an epic clash of characters, with Taz’s frenzied demeanor on full display alongside Iron Giant’s aerial prowess, while also confirming the astute problem-solver Velma, as they join the fight against a host of heroes and personalities, from Batman (DC) and Shaggy (Scooby-Doo) to Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes) and Arya Stark (Game of Thrones), and more.

Also announced today, the MultiVersus Open Beta will be coming July 2022, and the MultiVersus official key art has been revealed.

Motive, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) announced during their Crafting the Tension Art Developer Livestream that Dead Space™ will officially launch on January 27, 2023 for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Dead Space is a remake of the classic sci-fi survival horror game that is being rebuilt from the ground up leveraging the Frostbite™ game engine. Still remaining true to the original game’s thrilling vision, the remake offers enhanced audio and crisp, harrowing visuals that have been carefully reimagined to evoke a new level of immersion and quality.

Dead Space puts players in the boots of Isaac Clarke, an everyman engineer on a routine mission to fix a gigantic mining starship, the USG Ishimura. But aboard the Ishimura, a living nightmare awaits. The ship’s crew has been slaughtered and infected, and Isaac’s girlfriend, Nicole, is missing somewhere on board. Alone and trapped, with only his engineering tools and skills, Isaac faces a battle for survival – not only against terrifying monsters called Necromorphs, but his own crumbling sanity.

Also revealed today in the Dead Space livestream, the team at Motive showcased an early look at how the remake visually evolves and updates the original with in-game props, tools, environments and more being reconstructed to a level of polish and details fit for the next generation of hardware and PCs. Moreover, by combining enhancements like dynamic, volumetric lighting with atmospheric and environmental VFX rendered in full-HDR, Dead Space allows players to confront the frighteningly tight corridors and shadowed hallways of the USG Ishimura with unprecedented levels of immersion for the beloved franchise.

Train2Game News Gotham Knights Gameplay Revealed

Warner Bros. Games and DC have revealed the first official gameplay of Nightwing and Red Hood in Gotham Knights, the upcoming open-world, third-person action RPG in development by Warner Bros. Games Montréal.

Narrated by Game Director Geoff Ellenor, the new video debuts an extended look at both playable characters as they bring justice to Gotham City’s criminal element, while also investigating clues around the mysterious Court of Owls. In this gameplay walkthrough, each hero’s distinct fighting style and open-world traversal abilities are on full display, from Nightwing’s unique acrobatic combat and aerial glider to Red Hood’s twin firearm skills and powerful leaping capability.

Gotham Knights is scheduled to launch worldwide on Oct. 25, 2022.

British Esports, the not-for-profit organisation and national body set up to support grassroots esports in the UK, is pleased to announce the return of the annual Esports in Education Summit this year.


Scheduled to take place on Thursday June 30th, 2022, at The Metronome (Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies), the fourth annual edition of the Esports in Education Summit, brought to you by British Esports and Association of Colleges Sport (AOC), will be a hybrid event with spaces available for attendees on the day.


The Esports in Education Summit brings together Senior Leaders, Curriculum Managers, Lecturers, as well as Team Coaches, from across the UK, to discuss the impact, developments and opportunities available in competitive gaming and esports in schools and colleges.


“We’re delighted to host the Esports in Education Summit once again this year, at the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies in Nottingham,” said Andy Payne OBE, Chair of British Esports. ”This summit is vitally important to continue the discussions around Esports and Education.  With restrictions forcing events online over the past few years, it’s great to be able to get back to physical events once again to meet with key stakeholders and educational leaders”.
