Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes holds off The Amazing Spider-Man to take top spot of the UK charts for the second week running.

Activision’s movie tie-in is one of three new entries to reach the top five 2K’s Spec Ops: The Line debuting at No.3, while SEGA’s London 2012: The Official Video Game reachesNo.4 in its first week on sale.  FIFA 12 slips three places to No.5.

Former No.1 Ghost Recon: Future Soldier also drops three places, settling for No.6 this week.  The Train2Game Blog recently spoke to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Creative Director Jean-Marc Geoffroy and Ubisoft Development Director Adrian Lacey, with the pair offering advice to Train2Game students on getting into the industry.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim moves up one to No.7 following the release of the new Dawnguard DLC, while Max Payne 3 drops to No.8.  Battlefield 3 slips to No.9 while the launch of Metal Gear Solid HD collection for PlayStation Vita sees it complete the top ten.

PlayStation 3 exclusive Ratchet & Clank Trilogy: Classics HD just misses out on breaking into the top ten, reaching No.11 in its first week on sale.

Train2Game News: UK Charts Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes flies to No.1

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes from Warner Brothers is the new UK No.1, bettering the achievement of its predecessor which debuted at No.2 back in 2008.

The success of Lego Batman 2 sees FIFA 12 drop to second spot, while Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier slips one to No.3.

The Train2Game Blog recently spoke to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Creative Director Jean-Marc Geoffroy and Ubisoft Development Director Adrian Lacey, with the pair offering advice to Train2Game students on getting into the industry.

Max Payne 3 slips one to No.4, Battlefield 3 is a non-mover at No.5, while Lollipop Chainsaw drops two to No.6 after its debut week. As the event gets closer, Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games moves up two to No.7, while The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim jumps 15 places to re-enter the top ten at No.8.

Sniper Elite V2 from Oxford studi Rebellion slips to No.9, while FIFA Street rises three to re-enter and complete the top ten.

Train2Game News: UK Charts – FIFA 12 takes its 9th No.1

FIFA 12 once again sits atop the UK Charts, taking its 9th No.1 38 weeks after release.  In that time, the EA Sports title hasn’t dropped out the top five once, beating the achievements of its predecessor FIFA 11 which remained in the top five for 23 weeks.

Train2Game News: UK Charts – Third No.1 for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier once again tops the UK charts, taking No.1 for the third week in a row.

The Train2Game Blog recently spoke to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Creative Director Jean-Marc Geoffroy and Ubisoft Development Director Adrian Lacey, with the pair offering advice on getting into the industry.

Ghost Recon is only the third game this year to score more than three No.1’s, the others being FIFA Street and FIFA 12. FIFA 12 itself stays at No.3 this week, just behind another non-mover in the form of Max Payne at No.2 . Battlefield 3 is up four to No.4, with Sniper Elite V2 up one to No.5.

Game of Thrones is the only new entry into the top 40 at No.6,  entering ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at No.7.  The rest of the top ten looks familiar with FIFA Street at No.8, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic games at No.9, and DiRT Showdown at No.10.

Train2Game news: UK Charts – SSX is No.1

Train2Game students see SSX reach the summit of the UK Charts in its first week on sale. The snowboarding title from EA Sports is the first in the SSX series to reach No.1, with a previous best of No.3 with SSX 3 all the way back in 2003.

EA Sports also take No.2, FIFA 12 climbing up the table once again. Mario Party 9 for the Nintendo Wii debuts at No.3, and sits one spot ahead of last week’s No.1, Uncharted: Golden Abyss for PlayStation Vita which drops to No.4. Mario appears for a second time in the top five, after Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games moves up one.

Former No.1 UFC 3 drops to No.6, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 continues to bounce around the top ten, this week moving up one spot to No.7.  EA Sports’ PlayStation Vita title FIFA Football drops to No.8, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations re-enters the top ten at No.9, while Battlefield 3 slips to No.10.

Syndicate, Rayman: Origins and recent chart topper Final Fantasy XIII-2 are among those games to drop out of the top ten.

Train2Game news: UK Charts – Revelations aplenty as FIFA 12 continues dominance

Train2Game students see FIFA 12 once again claim top spot in of the UK charts, marking the EA Sports title’s sixth consecutive No.1 and eighth overall.

As previously reported by The Train2Game Blog, FIFA 12 was the UK’s third biggest ever video game launch when it was released last year.

The rest of the top five sees regular titles shifting places with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 up two to No.2, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Just Dance 3 down one spot each to No. 3 and No.4 respectively, while EA’s Battlefield 3 is a non-mover at No.5.

Capcom’s Resident Evil: Revelations for the Nintendo 3DS is a new entry at No.6, and the first new release of 2012 to make it into the top 40. Resident Evil: Revelations success makes it the seventh largest launch of the Nintendo 3DS so far.

Both Zumba Fitness titles slip with Zumba Fitness down one to No.7, while Zumba Fitness 2 drops two to No.10. Between them sit Saints Row: The Third at No.8, and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations re-enters the top ten to take No.9.

Train2Game news: UK Charts – FIFA 12 dominates as Rayman Origins enters top ten

FIFA 12 official screenshotTrain2Game students see FIFA 12 claim its fifth consecutive and seventh No.1 spot in total in this week’s UKIE Games Charts. FIFA 12 has already made EA Sports more money than any other previous title in the series and has its second best chart run.

As previously reported by The Train2Game Blog, FIFA 12 was the UK’s third biggest ever video game launch when it was released. However, it still has some way to go in order to beat the 11 weeks FIFA:  Road to the World Cup 98 spent at top spot in 1997 and 1998.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim from Bethesda continues to sell very well, moving up to No.2 , switching places with Ubisoft’s Just Dance 3. FPS heavyweights Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 switch places and this week take No.4 and No.5 respectively.

Long-time former  chart topper Zumba Fitness is a non-mover at No.6, and continues to sell better than its sequel, Zumba Fitness 2, which drops one to No.8.  Saints Row The Third returns to the top ten in between the two Zumba Fitness titles.

Ubisoft’s Rayman Origins enters the top ten for the first time after a slow but steady rise up the charts. As reported by the Train2Game Blog, Rayman Origins failed to make the top 40 when it was released last November.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and Need For Speed: The Run both leave the top ten, dropping to No.12 and No.14 respectively.

Train2Game news: UK Charts – FIFA 12 top again as two Zumba titles make top ten

Train2Game students have got used to seeing FIFA 12 from EA Sports at the top of the charts, and it remains there for the fourth consecutive time in a week when two Zimba Fitness titles make the top ten.

It’s the sixth time FIFA 12, which as reported by the Train2Game blog was the UK’s third ever biggest launch when it was released,has taken top spot and it’s certainly not proving easy for any other title to dislodge it.

Just Dance 3 moves up two spots to No.2, with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim also raises two to take No.3 Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 slip to No.4 and No.5 respectively.

Zumba Fitness remains at No.6, while Zumba Fitness 2 enters the top ten at No.7. As previously reported by The Train2Game Blog, Zumba Fitness dominated the charts last summer.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations moves up one to No.9, while Need For Speed: The Run drops three to complete the top ten.

Train2Game news: UK Charts – FIFA 12 takes first No.1 of 2012

Train2Game blog readers asw FIFA 12 take the final No.1 of 2011 and 2012 has started in the same way with EA Sports’ popular football title remaining at the top of the pile.

It’s the fifth time FIFA 12, which as reported by the Train2Game blog was the UK’s third ever biggest launch when it was released, has taken top spot.

EA also take second place in this week’s chart with Battlefield 3 moving up one spot to No.2, switching places with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 which drops to No.3. Just Dance 3 remains at No.4, while The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim raises three places to No.5.

Zumba Fitness, which Train2Game Blog readers saw dominate the charts last summer, returns to the top ten at No.6, one place ahead of non-mover Need for Speed: The Run. Saints Row: The Third drops to No.8, while moves up from No.12 to re-enter the top ten at No.9.

Train2Game news: UK Charts – FIFA 12 stays No.1 as Star Wars: The Old Republic nosedives

Train2Game students see FIFA 12 take the honour of being the UK’s final chart topper of 2011, while Star Wars: The Old Republic drops 28 places.

It’s FIFA 12’s fourth appearance as the UK’s best seller of the week and as reported by The Train2Game Blog, the football sim first took No.1 with its release last October, becoming the third ever biggest video game launch in the UK.

It’s also the second No.1 in a row for FIFA 12, which also topped the charts the previous week.

The success of FIFA 12 denies Activisions Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which has to settle for No.2, one place ahead of EA’s Battlefield 3. Just Dance 3 drops one spot to No.4, while Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is a non-mover at No.5.

Saints Row: The Third and Need For Speed: The Run are also both non-movers at No.6 and No.7 respectively, while Christmas No.1, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, remains at No.8. Mario Kart 7 and Forza Motorsport 4 complete the top ten.

Star Wars: The Old Republic slips from No.10 to No. 38 in just its second week on sale. It’s worth noting however, that EA and Bioware’s MMO is also available as a digital download. The Train2Game Blog interviewed Bioware founders Dr. Ray Muzyka and Dr. Greg Zeschuk towards the end of last year.
