Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes from Warner Brothers is the new UK No.1, bettering the achievement of its predecessor which debuted at No.2 back in 2008.

The success of Lego Batman 2 sees FIFA 12 drop to second spot, while Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier slips one to No.3.

The Train2Game Blog recently spoke to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Creative Director Jean-Marc Geoffroy and Ubisoft Development Director Adrian Lacey, with the pair offering advice to Train2Game students on getting into the industry.

Max Payne 3 slips one to No.4, Battlefield 3 is a non-mover at No.5, while Lollipop Chainsaw drops two to No.6 after its debut week. As the event gets closer, Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games moves up two to No.7, while The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim jumps 15 places to re-enter the top ten at No.8.

Sniper Elite V2 from Oxford studi Rebellion slips to No.9, while FIFA Street rises three to re-enter and complete the top ten.

Train2Game News: UK Charts – FIFA 12 takes its 9th No.1

FIFA 12 once again sits atop the UK Charts, taking its 9th No.1 38 weeks after release.  In that time, the EA Sports title hasn’t dropped out the top five once, beating the achievements of its predecessor FIFA 11 which remained in the top five for 23 weeks.

Train2Game News: UK Charts – Third No.1 for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier once again tops the UK charts, taking No.1 for the third week in a row.

The Train2Game Blog recently spoke to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Creative Director Jean-Marc Geoffroy and Ubisoft Development Director Adrian Lacey, with the pair offering advice on getting into the industry.

Ghost Recon is only the third game this year to score more than three No.1’s, the others being FIFA Street and FIFA 12. FIFA 12 itself stays at No.3 this week, just behind another non-mover in the form of Max Payne at No.2 . Battlefield 3 is up four to No.4, with Sniper Elite V2 up one to No.5.

Game of Thrones is the only new entry into the top 40 at No.6,  entering ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at No.7.  The rest of the top ten looks familiar with FIFA Street at No.8, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic games at No.9, and DiRT Showdown at No.10.

Train2Game News: UK Charts – Ghost Recon: Future Soldier shoots to No.1

Train2Game students see Ghost Recon: Future Soldier from Ubisoft take top spot of the UK Charts in the tactical shooters’ first week on sale, one of three new entries in the top five.

The fifth full game in the Ghost Recon series has had better week one sales than any of its predecessors.  Last month, The Train2Game Blog spoke to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Creative Director Jean-Marc Geoffroy and Ubisoft Development Director Adrian Lacey, with the pair offering advice on getting into the industry.

The success of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier sees Max Payne 3 drop to No.2, while Capcom RPG Dragon’s Dogma and Codemasters’ DiRT Showdown are new entries at No.3 and No.4 respectively.  FIFA 12 is a non-mover at No.5.

Sniper Elite V2 from Oxford studio Rebellion slips to No.6, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 remaining at No.7 for the second week in a row. Prototype 2 drops two to No.8, while Diablo III is this week’s biggest loser slipping seven places from No.2 to No.9. FIFA Street completes the top ten.

Other new releases making the top 40 this week include Mario Open Tennis for 3DS at No.11, and Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock for PlayStation 3 at No. 34.

Train2Game News: UK Charts – Max Payne 3 beats Diablo III to No.1

Train2Game Blog readers see Max Payne 3 take top spot of the UK charts this week, with Rockstar’s action title beating off competition from fellow debutant Diablo III for No.1.

It’s the first time a Max Payne title has debited at No.1, with Max Payne 3 outselling its 2003 predecessor by almost ten to one.

PC exclusive Diablo III therefore has to settle for No.2 on its first week on sale, despite being the 12th fastest selling PC game of all time. FIFA Street drops to No.3,  former No.1 Sniper Elite V2 drops to No.4, while FIFA 12 slips to No.5.

Prototype 2 is No.6 this week, one spot ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 which re-enters the top ten.  Battlefield 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations are up one spot each, while Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games completes the top ten.

Train2Game news: UK Charts – Sniper Elite V2 takes No.1

Train2Game students see Sniper Elite V2 by Oxford based studio Rebellion topping the charts in its first week on sale.  Get an insight into how the sniping based shooter was made in a developer diary here on The Train2Game Blog.

Last week’s No.1 Prototype 2 drops to No.2, with FIFA 12 once again a non-mover at No.3. FIFA Street drops two to No.4, while fellow EA title Mass Effect 3 slips one to No.5.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 moves up one to No.6, leapfrogging Kinect Star Wars which drops two to No.7. Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games moves up to No.8, switching positions with Battlefield 3 which is No.9.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 completes the top ten, after re-entering it from No.14. As reported by The Train2Game Blog, the next instalment in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops II was announced last week.

Saints Row The Third and The Witcher 2 leave the top ten, falling to No.13 and No.16 respectively.  The PlayStation Vita version of Mortal Kombat only manages to reach No.33 in its debut week.

Train2Game blog readers see Activision Blizzard take their first No.1 of 2012, with Prototype 2 taking top spot in its first week on sale. Radical Entertainment’s open world action game reaches No.1, despite failing to match the debut week sales of 2009’s original.

FIFA Street is a non-mover at No.2, with fellow EA Sports title FIFA 12 also remaining in the same spot it occupied last week at No.3. Mass Effect 3 and Kinect Star Wars both move up one position each to No.4 and No.5 respectively.

After reaching top spot last week, The Witcher 2: Assassin’s of Kings drops five to No.6, with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 slipping one to No.7. Battlefield 3 drops to No.8, while Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is once again a non-mover at No.9.  Saints Row The Third moves up two places and complete the top ten.

Train2Game news: UK Charts – The Witcher 2 takes No.1

Train2Game Blog readers see The Witcher 2: Assassin’s of Kings take top spot in the UK Charts in its first week on sale for Xbox 360. 98% of this weeks’ sales of the RPG from CD Projeckt and Namco Bandai were for Xbox 360, with 2% of copies sold being last year’s PC version.

CD Projekt has called The Witcher 2 “The most complex and non-linear story ever told on Xbox 360,″ and you can find out much more about the game and its development in The Train2Game Blog interview with  CD Projekt Environment Artist Marek Ziemak.

The Witcher 2 knocks last weeks’ chart topper FIFA Street down to No.2, with FIFA 12 and Kinect Star Wars non-movers at No.3 and No.4.Mass Effect 3 drops to No.5, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 slips one to No.6, ahead of EA’s FPS Battlefield 3 which also drops one spot to No.7.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, follows those above it by slipping one place to No.8, Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is a non-mover at No.9, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 drops four to complete the top ten.

Train2Game news: UK Charts – FIFA Street returns to top spot

Train2Game students see FIFA Street claim its fourth No.1 this week, as EA continue to dominate the UK charts.

FIFA Street reclaims top spot, after previously holding the position for three consecutive weeks before it was dislodged by Kinect Star Wars. EA’s Mass Effect 3 rises one to No.2, while FIFA 12 is No.3 in its 29th week on sale.

Kinect Star Wars drops to No.4 after debuting in top spot last week, while Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 – another EA Sports title – is a non-mover at No.5. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is another non-mover, taking No.6 in its 23rd week in the charts.

Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim moves up three to No.7, sitting one spot ahead of EA’s Battlefield 3, which rises one to No.8. Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games slips to No.9, with the majority of its sales for Nintendo Wii, while former No.1 SSX completes the top ten.

Nintendo’s Pandora’s Tower is the only new entry into the top 40, debuting at No. 38.

Train2GameNews readers see FIFA Street take No.1 for the third week in a row, in a top ten that continues to be dominated by EA. As previously reported by The Train2Game Blog, FIFA Street also topped the charts for the previous two weeks.

The football title takes top spot ahead of Mass Effect 3, which moves up one to No.2, and EA Sports’ Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 which debuts in the UK charts at No.3. FIFA 12 slips one to No.5, marking the fourth EA title in the top five.

Narto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations from Namco Bandai arrives at No.6 in its first week on sale, pushing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 down one to No.7. The FPS from Activision is one spot ahead of EA shooter Battlefield 3, a non-mover at No.8.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games moves up one to No.9, while SSX completes the top ten.

Other new entries this week include Silent HD Collection at No.12, Silent Hill: Downpour at No.15, while Ridge Racer Unbounded only reaches No. 21 in its first week on sale.
