Consumer research platform PickFu has released a fresh update designed to help mobile app and game marketers.
PickFu has added a host of new features including a redesigned dashboard, improved tagging, and a bank of pre-written poll questions based on the thousands of polls already run by users of the online service. With these improvements, game developers can collect hundreds of responses in minutes.
Due to Apple’s recent introduction of App Tracking Transparency (ATT), app marketers can no longer rely as heavily on programmatic advertising to drive installations and acquire new users. It’s more important than ever for mobile game publishers to test and refine their marketing to give their apps the best possible chance of being downloaded and played.
Hundreds of mobile game publishers, including the industry’s biggest, already use PickFu to test game names and logos, character designs and art styles, gameplay mechanics, app icons and screenshots, and mobile advertising creatives.
Unlike A/B testing, where variations of an ad are shown to different users to see which performs better, PickFu gives companies a quick and easy way to gather useful feedback from real consumers, drawn from thousands of poll respondents based in the U.S.
“Before Apple’s changes, game publishers were already using PickFu as part of their development and post-launch marketing alongside other testing methods. Now, with the mobile advertising landscape currently in a state of flux, testing and improvement is even more important for UA strategies, said John Li, PickFu co-founder. “The new features we’ve added make it easier than ever for even novice app marketers to gather feedback and understand their audiences.”
Founded in 2008, PickFu helps businesses make better informed decisions. To date, over 110,000 PickFu polls have collected more than 3.2 million written consumer responses across industries including publishing, e-commerce, app development, insurance, and marketing.

Playdate is a brand-new and truly unique gaming handheld system that is a celebration of video games. It’s yellow. It fits in your pocket. It includes brand new games from amazing creators. It has a beautiful black and white screen. And yes, it also has a crank!
The 15-minute digital presentation will cover lots of Playdate news including a first look at the games of Season One, news on pre-orders, and more exciting surprises that will be of interest to anyone curious about Playdate.
Panic has also announced today that the Playdate is set to launch at $179 USD, with double the number of season one games originally planned (24 instead of 12), and double the amount of internal storage originally announced (4GB instead of 2GB).
“We’ve all been quietly working non-stop to get all of the complex pieces of the Playdate puzzle into place, and at last we’re ready to show you what we’ve been up to,” says Cabel Sasser, co-founder of Panic.
“There’s a lot of amazing things being created here that will hopefully add a bit of joy to your life. And while we’re launching a price a little bit higher than we planned — largely due to the massive global shortage of electronic parts right now — we took the last year to double the number of free games included in Season One. More on that in the update.”

Today, CATAN Studio and Asmodee announced the forthcoming release of CATAN – 3D Edition, a premium game that showcases the iconic CATAN game in all its three-dimensional glory.
CATAN – 3D Edition can be preordered at CatanShop.com. The MSRP of CATAN – 3D Edition is $300 USD.
The island of Catan rises up from the table for an immersive game experience like no other. Settlements grow up from fertile grain fields and cities nestle into the sides of majestic mountains. You can almost hear the sheep baa-ing in their pastures.
This long-awaited 3D Edition of the contemporary classic board game CATAN is based on terrain tiles that were hand sculpted by the game designer Klaus Teuber himself. All of the terrain is hand painted for stunning color, and intricately designed player pieces are antiqued for a look that is full of history and character.
“CATAN – 3D Edition is the product of years of diligent effort and attention to detail,” said Pete Fenlon, CEO of CATAN Studio. “Our goal was to create a durable premium product that not only looks beautiful on a game table, but that also creates a visually stunning foundation for immersive storytelling.”
This is not the first time a 3D version of CATAN has been released. In 2005, a special collector’s 3D edition of what was then called The Settlers of Catan was released. Ever since, the growing popularity and reach of the game has increased fan demand for a new 3D edition.
“The gaming hobby has grown by leaps and bounds since the last time we released a 3D edition more than 15 years ago,” Fenlon said. “There is a whole new generation of players who have been eagerly awaiting this game. Using refined designs and improved technology, we’re thrilled to finally be able to share it with them.”
CATAN – 3D Edition Contains:
Hand-painted 3D terrain hex tiles, sea frames, and harbor markers
